My first question is why do they even have a meeting if votes taken during a meeting are not followed? The supervisors voted to have a referendum vote, but it was never placed on the ballot. The County Administrator failed to do his job and follow what happened at a meeting. Either the County Administrator is in a mistake, or they are having secret meetings.
In the lawsuit with Dante Fire Department, they claim it was not a corporation for some time. The problem with that was they still were answering calls up until last year. It is clear there were no issues until someone decided they wanted to sale the property to Dollar General. The statement in the Lebanon News was a flat out lie. They are lying to the public and they know it. Corporation status or number of members never mattered until they wanted the property for General Dollar. They are slapping the intelligence of every Russell County citizen when they put out these statements that it was over incorporation or number of members. Oh, yea we are rednecks and we are blind to what is going on!
We have hardly any discussion on the fire department at the meetings. Someone is making some of the supervisors that are supposed to be fighting for the people look really bad right now. None of them are speaking up on some of these issues. And the only thing anyone can see that they are doing is giving away money every meeting that they told us they did not have. I would be ashamed if I were on the board for not speaking up to remove the county administrator or asking questions about who approached Dollar General.
Some of the supervisors surely knew this deal with Dollar General was on the table. They have to speak up and give us answers. All we know for sure is the Dante Fire Department was fine for everyone until Dollar General wanted the property. When are they going to stick their neck out for the people and demand answers. I would make a motion to settle the lawsuit with Daniel Meade and the Dante Fire Department because thanks to your County Administrator and a few of the supervisors you have made a mess of things. Also, you have allowed the County Administrator to attack members of the Fire Department and lie to the people. When is it going to stop. Our supervisors have allowed a few people in charge to diminish any faith we had in all of them.
They elected new supervisors so we would have more transparency. It sure looks like that failed?
