Do local grocery and retail stores use deceptive pricing from time to time?
While visiting the local Food City store in the produce section it does feel like they are being deceptive about some of their prices. In the picture you can see the watermelon has a price listed on the shelf as $3.99. One would think from just an observance that the product costs $3.99. If you look very close to the label in small letters it says per pound. The cups are actually $7 or $8. Most people looking at the item would think the price is only $3.99 per cup but that is not the case. That is the per pound price. The reason someone might think this is definitely price deception is the fact that the per pound is listed so small on the price label. Does this look like price cheating?
