In the Washington County Supervisor meeting Tuesday September 9, 2025, they gave a report on the physical budget year 2024-2025, which closed out June 30, 2025. After they got the money back from departments and overage in assessed tax revenue the county had 3.8 million dollars extra for the physical year. They moved most of that money into reserves which now total over 33 million dollars.

With the 33 million and the capital fund they have almost 40 million of your tax dollars in the bank. And county administration gave the supervisors their doomsday speech of how they need to be conservative with your money. Why not try being conservative and let the taxpayers keep some of their money?

The county has consistently over the past 5 years or so been running over their budget by about 4 million each year. But they still came out and said they could not make it without a tax increase.

When are the citizens in Washington County going to say enough is enough?
