ROBINHOOD IN REVERSE STEAL FROM THE POOR AND GIVE IT TO THE RICH!

Yes, the rich get richer. Do not let them lie to you and tell you fuel costs are up or they need more money to keep the plants up or make excuses why they need more money. When they are paying stockholders $1.9 Billion dollars then the truth comes out. They are stealing from us to make the rich get richer. Yes, I say they are making the rich better off while making the people worse off. If you have money to invest in AEP, then you are better off than most citizens in their service area. Should we be mad? Outraged is a better notion for it. The true problem was created long ago because a for-profit corporation should never have a monopoly over the people. Basically, the way it is set up we have absolutely no say so in anything about rate increases.

PROMISES MADE PROMISES NOT KEPT!

Our state legislators passed a bill to try to help the citizens it was so good that Appalachian Power is back asking for a six dollar rate increase and the ink from the bill has not even got dry yet. The following is the legislation they got approved:

The bill includes:

✅A ban on rate increases between the months of November and February

✅A prohibition on charging interest or late fees between July 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, and a prohibition on reconnection fees between July 1, 2025, and March 1, 2026

✅A requirement for APCO to propose and the State Corporation Commission to consider implementing seasonal rates and alternatives to budget billing

✅A requirement that the State Corporation Commission solicits, collects, and considers public comments as part of each rate proceeding

✅A clarification that increases in fuel costs cannot be passed on to customers for the remainder of 2025

This does nothing really to stop the greed and the damage they are doing to the citizens of our area. We have increased taxes and constant rate increase requests from the power company. How are people going to survive or have anything if somewhere this does not stop.

Senator Todd Pillion had the following quote on his Facebook page:

“While this is a significant first step, there is more work to be done, and we will continue working with all stakeholders to provide relief to customers and hold APCO accountable to the Commonwealth and their ratepayers.”

Nothing has been updated to show us where Senator Pillion is on this rate increase.

Our legislators have taken money from different power companies, so, we must ask, are you really fighting for the people? Nothing has truly been done yet.

The company had $2.97 Billion in profits last year. They had a Billion extra after paying their stockholders. Why if they have this much profit do they have to steal off the most vulnerable?
