Carri Bradshaw a former candidate for Town Council and hopefully a future candidate for Town Council posted an update of the last meeting on Facebook. You can subscribe to Carri’s page on youtube for free for updates. Thank you, Carri, for the work you do. Without Carri many of us would not know what is going on in the Town.

Carri’s update is presented here:

“BIG NEWS — Transparency in Action!

I went LIVE on YouTube for the Lebanon Town Council meeting for the very first time!

Because YOU deserve to know what’s happening in your town — no filters, no delays, just real-time access. This is only thanks to YOU, my faithfull supporters! Together we are leading Lebanon Forward.

I’m extremely pleased with the Planning Commission for approving two housing requests that will allow two families to have affordable housing. With more businesses opening and the IDA working hard to bring new industry and jobs to Lebanon and Russell County, we absolutely need more housing options for people moving here to work.

Chad Newberry is planning construction on a new neighborhood that will add stick-built homes—a huge step in the right direction!

Also announced:

  • Main Street paving will begin soon—stay tuned for more updates on that.
  • I inquired about the town tax rate following the county-wide reassessment, because if the rate stays the same, citizens could face a significant tax increase.
  • The Mayor said that Scott Gilmer would address it. He shared that they are considering lowering the rate and will discuss it at the upcoming finance meeting.
  • I’ll be posting details about that finance meeting separately—and YES, I’ll be going LIVE again to keep you in the loop.

This is what open government looks like, and this is just the beginning.

I may not hold a seat on council, but that hasn’t stopped me from showing up, asking questions, and keeping you informed. I’m still here, still working for the people—because that’s what true representation looks like.”
