Dr. Mark J. Matney with a partnership of Rodney Williams started a weekly Monday night non-denominational Bible study at the Russell Theater in Lebanon, Virginia. The Legendary Russell Theater is a great facility for a Bible study as attendees can watch the study on the big screen. The study has several mission points. First, it is designed as an opportunity for those no longer attending church. That mission is to build up the attendee to once again feel comfortable about going back to the church of their choice. Another mission point is to try to bring as many as possible to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Another point is to give the current Christians a better knowledge of the Holy Spirit inspired Holy Bible. The last point of the mission is to give area pastors new knowledge of the Bible to use in their own churches.
The first phase of the bible study is to go through the books of the Old Testament with the study by Skip Heitizig. This bible study is called The Bible from Thirty Thousand Feet. This is an overview of all books in the bible. Usually, this study covers a book each night that attendees meet. The study itself lasts for one hour.

A little bit about Skip according to AI:
“Skip Heitzig is an American author, Bible teacher, and the founder and senior pastor of Calvary Church, a mega-church based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born in 1955, Heitzig is widely recognized for his expositional, verse-by-verse style of biblical teaching. Through his multimedia ministry, his teachings reach global audiences via radio programs, podcasts, books, and online streaming. His teaching methodology focuses strictly on taking congregations systematically through entire books of the Bible.”
The study plans on using more of Skip’s work by going verse by verse in the book of John, and later on going through is study called Bloodline.

In the future the Bible Study plans on doing the Bible Study of Gary Hamrick’s Book of Revelation study.
A little bit about Gary according to AI:
Gary Hamrick is an American pastor who serves as the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg, Virginia. He has led the non-denominational church since 1991, growing its congregation from 18 charter members to several thousand weekly worshipers. Hamrick is widely known for his verse-by-verse, practical biblical teaching style, which often intersects with cultural and national issues.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the study on the big screen start at 6:30 p.m. Following the study attendees are treated to free pizza. The largest group for the Bible Study so far has been 19 people. Hoping more will give it a try and enjoy a great evening each week. All comers are welcome.
