Laura Mollo Town Councilman Fighting for Richlands
Laura Mollo member of the Richlands Town Council spoke up for her town on Facebook yesterday. Laura started off her post by saying:
“I always joked that Richlands was like the Disney movie, Cars. How the bypass came and everyone forgot about the town. Then people just stopped caring and they had no money for repairs but once they replaced all of the neon signs and paved the roads, Radiator Springs thrived again.
You may laugh at the analogy but it worked for Radiator Springs and it’s working for Richlands. Simple, common sense government. What a concept.”
She continued further with an update on her Council page on Facebook. She stated:
“When I ran for council, I told people that I want to see more of our tax dollars kept in citizens pockets where they belong. But the taxes that do come out of our pockets, I want to ensure citizens see a return on their investment. Luckily, this council all agrees!
Before I was on council, I studied the budget extensively and realized the town received money from the state for road repairs but we saw absolutely zero paving in quite a few years. This council has ensured he largest paving projects Richlands has seen in years. Last year we paved Kent’s Ridge and Virginia Avenue. This year, Farmer Street, E First, E Second and tonight you’ll see paving begin on Second Street all the way through town.
This council and current administration remain committed to keeping money money in your pocket and using the money you do pay in taxes to better your town, your services, thus improving your quality of life here in Richlands.
Thank you for your patience while these paving projects are completed.”
It is good to see a councilman really standing up for the folks.
